Italian Wedding and Street Photography
Italy is a wonderful place, I have visited the country many times and toured around Rome, Venice, Tuscany and more recently, the Amalfi coast. I just keep going back! The Amalfi coast is such a beautiful place, and as such is a very popular location for weddings, with it’s outstanding coastal landscape and beautiful vistas. The coastline consists of a colourful series of picturesque villages which cascade down to the Mediterranean sea.
I’m always looking to improve my photography skills by undertaking educational workshops in the UK or abroad. I find these workshops very inspirational and always ignite my enthusiasm for the oncoming wedding photography season. It was a really amazing experience to take part in a wedding photography and street photography course in Italy, taught by the very talented Mike Garrard, Kate McElwee and Ryan Jones. It was an incredible learning experience to undertake the street photography aspect of the workshop, where we toured the busy and exciting town of Amalfi, capturing real life as it happened. Documentary photography skills are so important when capturing the more spontaneous aspects of a wedding day and I am now putting what I have learnt into action when shooting weddings this year!
The Amalfi coast is a very romantic place for destination weddings. This southern part if Italy is a wonderful location where couples can get married alongside ocean views, flowering gardens, beautiful villas, sunshine and of course there is the wonderful food!
For part of the course we spent a wonderful day touring around the mountain top village of Ravello. for a styled wedding shoot with the fabulous couple, Sammie and Ian. This was amazing experience to be able to refine my photography skills further whilst walking around this wonderful village which a popular place for Italian destination weddings. Here are my favourite shots – enjoy.
