The City of Ely

I’ve lived in Ely for many years and enjoy being an Ely Wedding Photographer. The Old Market City of Ely is a fantastic place to live. There the very famous Ely Cathedral, the market which hosts many speciality suppliers and also there are so lovely unique independent shops.

I was so excited to be able to photograph Caroline and James’ wedding at Ely Registry Office and their reception at The Anchor in Sutton Gault.I just loved the Cambridgeshire fenlands for the open space and beautiful sky.

The Wedding in Ely and The Anchor

The wedding was carried out at Ely registry office.  It was a joyful ceremony followed by confetti in the courtyard.  The relaxed wedding reception was held at The Anchor Pub in Sutton. The Anchor is described as “a little bit of Heaven anchored in the Fenland”.  We captured some portraits along the river and then it was time for the wedding breakfast.

The marquee was decorated with beautiful wild flowers by VV Raven and it all looked so pretty. After the meal the heartfelt wedding speeches took place and then it was time for the music and dancing.

Documentary Wedding Photography Style

I work with a documentary style and prefer to capture lots of moments to capture the essence and spirit of the day.  I work in an unobtrusive manner to capture authenticity.  This wedding day was full of happy heartfelt tears and lots of laughter. It was a joy to capture.
