It was a wonderful to be invited to shoot Zoë and Alan’s wedding at Anstey Hall in Cambridge. As I’m a based in Ely which is not far away it’s great to be able to photograph weddings at Anstey Hall. This 17th Century venue is truly unique and stunning. I was so delighted to chosen to capture this amazing day. The day began with bride and groom preparations. I love capturing the preparations, there is so much emotion and excitement to capture. The rooms of Anstey halls are really beautiful, wonderfully ornate 17th century features with bold colour – such opulence. The ceremony was held the library. Such a magical place to get married surrounded by so many books and stories. The wedding breakfast was held in the beautiful ball room and after dinner there were some entertaining wedding speeches.
I love how unique very wedding can be and it was excellent when Zoë carried out some performance poetry at the end of the day, to an audience of enthralled guests. So much happiness and laughter! The guests just loved Zoë poem and it really made the day very special.
I quite often carry out a last photo of the night to finish the wedding story, whether it be photo with the sunset or some creative photography with flash. These photos are great for finishing pieces in wedding albums. This time I captured some pictures of Zoë and Alan in front of the house at night, with the two wonderful lamp posts either side the famous Anstey Hall Red front door. A perfect way to finish the wedding story. Thank you Zoë and Al for allowing me to capture the story of your wedding day.
