An engagement shoot for Claire and Ben at Wandlebury Country Park, Cambridge.

The locations

I’m a Cambridge Photographer,  however I’m also willing to travel to other counties.  Claire and Ben were getting married in Oxford. However, we met up for their engagement shoot in Cambridge. I quite often carry out engagement shoots at Wandlebury country park in Cambridge.  It’s an extremely versatile location because it’s looks really beautiful in all seasons.  There are woodlands, open fields and seasonal flowers. Furthermore there is a beautiful orchard and long avenues of trees. The lands of Wandlebury country park are extremely vast and quite often you can find yourself a little lost!

The engagement shoot

The weather was really sunny and therefore, we took to the woodlands for lots of open shade. It was great to walk around the lush green park and capture some lovely relaxed photos. I always find engagement shoots are a fantastic way to use more of my creative photography skills. I try not to pose the couple too much so that I can create really natural photos. Ultimately, I aim to produce photos which show the couple’s personality and connection with each other. Also I love to use the environment in a creative way to capture lots of photos with interesting light and composition.

Why have an engagement shoot?

I always find engagement shoots are great way for couples to practice being photographed and as such are more relaxed about the photography on the wedding day. You can see the blog for their wonderful farm wedding here. Even though I’m normally a Cambridge photographer, I was happy to travel to Oxford. I was so pleased to see that Claire and Ben has used the engagement shoot photos in a signing album for their wedding day. Engagement shoots are also great if you require photos for a wedding website or want use the shots on your invitations.
