Winter Engagement Photography | London Winter Engagement Shoot
A winter engagement shoot for Max and Sarah at Alexandra Palace
Winter engagement shoots
Quite often I find couples request winter engagement photography. Sometimes because their wedding is in summer and they would like a different look to their photos or they would like the shoot near to the date of their winter wedding. I love carrying out engagement shoots in winter especially near Christmas, when there is lots of festivity going on and everyone is looking forward to the holidays. Also, on a bright day the light can be absolutely amazing and the photos look magical.
The engaged couple.
I met Sarah and Max for the first time during this shoot and it was great to chat with them both about how they met in Cambridge. They wanted natural and relaxed photos for their wedding day. I was so glad that they had a engagement shoot as this was a brilliant opportunity for me to get to know them a bit better before the big day. It was great they had wrapped up warm, as it was quite cold.
The engagement shoot location
I’m based in Cambridge however not everyone who books me for their wedding day live nearby. They both lived in London, and therefore, we met up at Alexandra palace in London. The palace is a grade II listed entertainment and sports venue opened in 1875. The history of Alexandra palace is described in detail on wikipedia! We carried out the shoot in woodland parkland. It was a lovely day and the sun was shining.
My relaxed photography Style
I aim to capture natural and relaxed portrait photos, capturing the connection between the couple, and furthermore the connection with the environment. I try not to stage the photos too much so that I can capture the in between moments. Winter engagement photography photos can be used in signing books and invites for the big day. It was great to be able to get to know them both a little better and hear more about their wedding day plans at Selwyn College, Cambridge.
