Cambridge University Wedding Photographer for Sarah and Matthew’s summer wedding.

I love being a Cambridge University Wedding Photographer. I just love living near Cambridge, it’s a beautiful city. The Cambridge University Colleges dominate the city and are a joy to photograph. Also, there are lots of shops and interesting cafes. As a result I love being a photographer here. I’m often photographing weddings in the Cambridge University colleges. On this Sunny August day in 2018, it was great to be Sarah and Matthews chosen Cambridge University Photographer. Prior to this day, I had worked as a photographer at Cambridge University before.

I had recently visited Magdalene college for a spring engagement shoot. So I know how beautiful the college was going to look on the wedding day. The college is beautifully situated on the River Cam and I’m always in awe at how lovely the area is.

Meeting the Bride and Groom

I met Sarah and Matthew for their wedding consultation. This was when they decided to book their wedding photography with me. They let me know all about their plans for the wedding at Magdalene College Cambridge University. I was so excited to hear their plans. I’m a big fan of being a photographer at the Cambridge University. One great benefit was meeting Sarah and Matthew a couple of times prior to their wedding day. As a result, I heard about their wedding plans. The more I heard, the more was looking forward to being their photographer for their wedding. Their day was set to be full of fun and happiness at beautiful locations.

It was brilliant that they both wanted to have engagement shoot. This was a great way to practice being photographed. We went to Richmond Park in London and I captured their engagement photography in the snow! I received a wonderful response to their engagement shoot gallery ”

The Wedding at Magdalene College Cambridge University.

Groom and bridal Prep

I arrived on the wedding day at Benson hall. Before arriving there, I capture some scenic photography on the Cambridge University grounds. I spent a couple of hours photographing Sarah and her Bridesmaids getting ready. Also, I was able to photograph Matthew’s groom prep in the Cambridge University College bar. I like to capture authentic moments during the day. Therefore, it was great to photograph the groom and groomsmen playing darts. Furthermore, it was lovely to photograph the home made floral displays being created. This added a wonderful personal touch to the day.

The Wedding Ceremony at Magdalene College Cambridge University Chapel

I photographed the ceremony in Magdalene College Cambridge University Chapel. It was a joy to photograph the events of the ceremony. The chapel is beautifully bright and colourful. Following the ceremony, it was time for the portraits. Also it was time to capture everyone enjoying tea and cake. The stunning college gardens are located next to the famous Samuel Pepes library. This provided a wonderful backdrop for the events of the afternoon.

The wedding reception at Christ Church, Cambridge

The rest of the reception was held at Christ Church Cambridge. The church is just a short stroll along Jesus green. All the guests enjoyed Champagne before the wedding breakfast. After the meal there were some wonderful speeches. This was followed by the cutting of the wedding cakes. After this time, there was a Ceilidh!

The Wedding Ceilidh

It was fabulous to capture all the action of the wedding ceilidh. I love to photograph this type of dance. The dance floor is packed and everyone has such an amazing time. Furthermore, it’s wonderful to capture all of the happy expressions. Also I liked to capture people whirling around the dance floor at great speed. There was lots of fun dancing! Therefore there was a wonderful atmosphere in the room.

My Documentary Wedding Photography Style

Here are my favourite images from their wedding day. As a result of being a documentary wedding photographer, I enjoy photographing the wedding story. Furthermore, I like to capture the day naturally as it unfolds. I do make time for some group shots and portraits. However, other than these shots, I like to capture the story of the wedding day. I really enjoyed creating the photography for this lovely wedding day. It was a lovely photographer based visit to Magdalene College Cambridge University. I was so happy Sarah and Matthew chose me to be their photographer for their wedding at Magdalene College Cambridge University.
