Sarah and James were married in Gonville and Caius at Cambridge University. After the ceremony the wedding reception was held at the stunning Childerley Hall. I’m based in Cambridgeshire, and I love photographing weddings at Childerley Hall. Childerley Hall is amazing wedding venue. I was so excited when Sarah and James asked me to be their wedding photographer.
Following a beautiful ceremony, the bride and groom left the chapel via sword exit. Upon leaving Gonville and Caius Sarah and James walked through the busy crowds of Cambridge and travelled in a 1920s vintage car to Childerley Hall for the celebrations.
Sarah and James’ wedding day was a really amazing to capture. The reception at Childerley Hall was really beautiful. I arrived at Childerley to hear the sounds of jazz music being piped into the garden where the drinks reception took place. The guests enjoyed mingling, eating canapes and playing croquet. The house, set in a farm has some stunning gardens which were full of flowers. Sarah and James hired me as their wedding photographer because of the way I capture colour. There was so much colour in the gardens which provided a great backdrop for their bride and groom portraits. We also took a walk to the lake for some photographs and they waved to their guests from the balcony of The Mill House. The wedding reception was held in the long barn ( the longest barn in the UK) which was adorned with many lanterns. The wedding decor was chic and rustic. I really enjoy getting to know couples and more about their relationship during a wedding day. For this wedding the tables were named after their favourite things which gave me an idea of their sense of adventure.
So then it nnwards to the first dance, which was an amazingly choreographed jive and it was fantastic! I love to capture the first dance it is such a magical part of the day and it was always fun to find out how couples will dance and what music is chosen. After this the guests danced the night away. I also manage to capture some lovely photos of Sarah and James with the beautiful sunset. A perfect way to end the wedding story.
