Chippenham Park Wedding Photographer | Ely Wedding Photographer
I was so excited when Richard and Megha booked me to cover their wedding day at Chippenham Park, a beautiful venue in Ely Cambridgeshire. Chippenham Park is a local wedding for me, as I’m based in the city of Ely. Prior to the wedding day I met them both during their winter engagement shoot in Norfolk. They really wanted some relaxed unposed photos which is how I like to work. We talked about how they met which was great story about a dropped pen! It was really exciting to hear about their Chippenham Park wedding plans. They wanted me to capture the essence of the day including some the posed family photos. The engagement shoot was shot in the snow, however we had the complete opposite weather for their wedding day with perfect sunshine and not a cloud in sight!
Oh what wedding day it was! All the fun of bridal preparations happened at the the Old School house in Bury St Edmunds while the groom prepared at Chippenham Park House. I loved capturing all the excitement of the preparations. It was amazing to capture all the emotion going on. The beautiful window at the School house was an ideal place to hang the beautiful Maggie Sottero wedding dress and provided a wonderful back drop for all the action. The girls were busy giving and receiving gifts – the atmosphere was electric with all the excitement for the day ahead. The bridesmaids wore beautiful blue dresses which matched the blue sky outside.
It was such a splendid sunny day at Chippenham park. Megha and her father arrived by classic car, to greet more of the wedding party in the bridal suite at the house. Each bridesmaid would escort one flower girl down the aisle. All the flower girls were ecstatic when they saw the bridesmaids looking so beautiful. There was lots of chatting and laughter. The outdoor gazebo was situated in the meadows full of pretty blossom trees. It was the perfect day for an outdoor ceremony. Beautiful violin music was playing providing a wonderful atmosphere. The stunning gardens at Chippenham were a lush green and provided the perfect backdrop for the reception. The couple’s friendly dog Mickey was the videographer for the day and transported a go-pro camera on his back. It was really important to ensure he was included in lots photos. The wedding breakfast was held in marquee which was thoughtfully decorated with beautiful blossom trees. As it was such a beautiful sunny day the evening sunshine was perfect to capture some gold hour portraits and it was fun to capture all the guest having fun by the beautiful lake. All the wedding guests danced the night way on the lovely reflective dance floor. Everyone had a lot of fun! Then last but no way least the evening was complete with beautiful fireworks. I was so impressed to see their initials were lit up in the distance – PERFECT!
I try to capture the essence of the wedding day, so couples can relive the day again and again. I try to work with a documentary style, only carrying out posed photos on special request. This is how they reacted to how I worked ” “You really adapted to what we wanted and we couldn’t have picked a better photographer!”
I was so happy to be sent these words from Richard and Megha when they received their gallery : “Thank you so much for the amazing wedding photos, we’ve now looked through the album at least 10 times and love them all! We’re really glad to have picked you and your style of photography. Everyone seems so happy and you’ve clicked some amazing shots! They look really artistic, with the lighting and the scenic photography, you’ve really captured the essence of the day! Thank you! ”
Thank you Richard and Megha for allowing me to capture your special day – it was tremendous!
